A "navigation" menu is available along the top of every page. These links enable you to navigate the most areas of the conferencing system.
The logo at the left hand top of every page will always take you to the home page.
A "logout" button is always available in the upper right hand side of every page, as you are encouraged to logout of the web interface whenever you are finished. This feature is very useful if you are accessing your account at a public terminal (such as in a public library), as once you logout others cannot view your account. Closing *all* web browser windows will also cause a logout.
1) Workspace allows you to see an overview of your account including a monthly calendar, along with the status of your personal notes and group notes.
a. Summary provides this brief overview of your workspace. Clicking on the calendar will take you to the Personal Calendar area, while clicking on your personal files folder will take you to the Personal Files and Links area. Clicking on a folder under IMAP folders will take you to the Read Mailbox area, while clicking on a folder under a group will take you to the Read Group area.
b. Personal Calendar allows you to manage your personal calendar and view, add, and change events that you wish to have on your calendar. Clicking on 'List' on Personal Calendar will list any events you have placed on your calendar for the next month from the present day. Clicking on 'Day' will provide a list of times by the hour along with any events for the day selected. Clicking on 'Week' will show dates during this week and provide a list of any events during this week. Clicking on 'Month' will show the monthly calendar along with events during the month. Click on the small red plus icon on any page you see it on to add an event.
c. Personal Files and Links provides you with an area to upload important files and make links to favorite website for easy access from any computer with an internet connection. You can create folders, upload files, and add URL's (an internet website address) along with managing these objects.
2) Mail allows you to work with all the notes in your account and manage them to your liking.
a. Inbox allows you to see the personal mail folders in your account, and which folders have unread (possibly new) messages. Click on the folder you wish to work with. It also lists the available amount of space in your account. More space can be purchased at an additional cost if you have the need to increase your mail quota amount.
i. Read Mailbox allows you to see the particular messages in a folder on your account. Unread messages will be bolded and have an unopened envelope icon next to them, read messages will have normal text and have an opened envelope icon next to them. Click on the subject of the message you wish to view. You can also choose to move messages between folders on your account. Select the checkbox of the message you wish to move and then select from the drop down list the folder you wish to copy your message into.
1. Read Personal Message allows you to view a particular personal note in your account. Here you can Reply, Forward, Print, and move back and forth between your personal notes.
b. Write allows you to write a new personal or group note using To, CC, and BCC. The new interface also allows you to attach more than one attachment to each message. Also, give the message a meaningful subject for easy identification.
c. Personal Addressbook allows you to edit a simple address book, to which you can use when using the Write and Post functions to recall addresses of Groups and People. Place only one address per line.
3) Groups allow you to manage your groups (formerly meetings) on the system.
a. Group List lists all the groups you are joined to on the system in addition to any unread group notes that you may have. You can choose to view Unread, Read and All groups by using the links on the page.
i. Read Group allows you to see the particular messages in a group. Unread messages will be bolded and have an unopened envelope icon next to them, read messages will have normal text and have an opened envelope icon next to them. Click on the subject of the message you wish to view.
ii. Read Group Message allows you to view a particular group note in your account. Here you can Reply, Forward, Print, and move back and forth between your group notes.
iii. Group Info is located on the left hand side toolbar. Clicking this link will show you the invitation to the group, along with the most recent notes and a brief overview of the permissions set on the group. Scrolling down to the bottom of the page will show email addresses that are pertinent for contact to the group when used outside of the web interface.
iv. Group Notes is located on the left hand side toolbar. It allows you to see the particular messages in a group. Unread messages will be bolded and have an unopened envelope icon next to them, read messages will have normal text and have an opened envelope icon next to them. Click on the subject of the message you wish to view.
v. Post is located on the left hand side toolbar and appears as a submenu of Groups. This feature allows you to write a new group note. If you are in a group when you click Post, the group that you are in will be the recipient of this new message, unless it is changed. Give the message a meaningful subject for easy identification.
vi. Live Chat is located on the left hand side toolbar. Live Chat allows you to enter into a live chat session for a group, if the feature is enabled. Requires a Java client to already be installed. See http://java.sun.com to download and install the latest Java VM, should you need to do so
vii. File Area is located on the left hand side toolbar.
viii. Links Area is located on the left hand side toolbar.
ix. Unjoin is located on the left hand side toolbar. This feature allows you to remove yourself from a group.
x. Invited Users is located on the left hand side toolbar. Here you can see the invited members and groups to the particular group, should you have permission to do so.
xi. Members is located on the left hand side toolbar. This feature gives you a listing of the invited members and groups to the particular group, should you have permission to do so. Here you can also Edit the permissions of a particular user or unjoin them, should you deem it necessary to remove a particular user.
xii. Add allows you to invite new members into your group. When using this feature, you must know the inbox names or the email address(es) of themembers you wish to invite.
xiii. Modify Group allows you to modify the permissions of a group, should you be the creator, or you have been permission by the creator to do so.
1. Access Permissions allows you to change the default permissions for your meeting. You can set your meeting as public or private and define if members of your meeting can read or write to your meeting.
a. Detailed Access Permissions allows you to see specific settings for both members and non-members of your meeting. These permissions were inherited from the old Convene programs. If you have any questions regarding these settings, please contact customer support with specific questions.
2. Group Information allows you to set the name of your meeting, along with a pertinent subject and description of y our meeting.
3. Delete Group allows you to delete your group. Use this feature cautiously, as your meeting can not be resotred once deleted.
4. Change Creator allows you to change the owner of the meeting. Once you give away the creation status of your meeting, you'll no longer be able to manage it. Enter a valid Ecunet inbox name to change the creator.
5. File Area allows you to set whether or not you would like to have a file area available for your meeting. If set to ON, the file area will provide an area for members of a meeting to share common files.
6. Links Area allows you to set whether or not you would like to have a links area available for your meeting. If set to ON, the links area will provide an area for members of a meeting to share website addresses (URL) with each other.

8. Ban Member allows you to ban a specific member of a meeting, should they be posting off topic messages. Should a member be posting spam, please contact customer support with the name of the Ecunet member posting spam.
9. Member Invitation allows you to invite new members into your group. When using this feature, you must know the inbox names of the members you wish to invite. To invite non- members to the group, please use the Internet Invitation feature.
10. Internet Invitation allows you to invite new non-Ecunet members into your group. When using this feature, enter the email address(es) of non-Ecunet members that you wish to invite. To invite members of Ecunet to the group, please use the Member Invitation feature.
b. Post is located on the left hand side toolbar and appears as a submenu of Groups. This feature allows you to write a new group note. If you are in a group when you click Post, the group that you are in will be the recipient of this new message, unless it is changed. Give the message a meaningful subject for easy identification.
c. Search allows you find a group on the system. You can search by the title of the group, the subject of a group, or by the creator of a group.
d. Create allows any member to create his or her own group. Groups on the conferencing system have a unique set of permissions. They can be public or private groups, and they can be "branched" from other groups. After selecting a new group name and defining a subject, an attachment, such as a .gif picture file can be added to the group. (NOTE: "Branching" is simply a way to invite other members of another group to join your new group.)
e. Delivery Options allows you to modify the settings of the groups you are joined to and how you wish to have your group notes delivered. You can choose to have them delivered to an email address or leave them on the web interface in order for you to read them via the website at your leisure.
f. Live Chats allows you to see, and enter, the Live Chat Rooms that are online that have Members available to chat. To join a live discussion, please select the topic in which you are interested in and click "Chat".
4) Members allow you to perform functions to search for and invite new members to the system.
a. Find Member allows you to find a member on the system via their inbox name.
b. Recommend Us allows you to invite new members to the system by sending them an invitation email to join at their leisure. You can invite multiple people, and even include your own text in this 'Recommendation.'
5) My Profile allows you to manage all the personal information associated with your account. This information is NOT shared with any third parties.
a. Change Inbox name allows you to change your inbox name / username on your account. It allows you to add, change, and delete inbox names upon demand. Once you delete an inbox name, it can *not* be used again.
b. Change password allows you to change your password. Follow the instructions on this page in order to do so.
c. Change Personal ID allows you to change your Personal ID. Make your Personal ID something easy to remember, such as your mother's maiden name or the last four digits of your social security system. Your Personal ID may be asked by customer service when making account changes that require verification of your identity.
d. Change credit card or billing information allows you to change your billing options, including invoicing and credit card billing. Placing a credit card number online will cause your account to be automatically paid each year (i.e. you will not receive an invoice).
e. Change your preferences allows you to change even more settings on your account.
i. My Profile lets you update the information for your account such as billing and contact information. Please ensure to keep this information up to date at all times so that your account does not become delinquent due to a billing issues.
ii. Web Preferences allows you to set many preferences that are to be used only on the website. Most are self-explanatory. If you have questions regarding these options, please email customer support.
iii. Email Options allows you to set email addresses to be linked with your account. You can add and delete addresses here to be used for allowing mail into groups you are joined to. The Sorting of IMAP feature allows mail on the server to automatically be sorted into folders when using the forwarding feature for groups to your email address.
iv. Delivery Options allows you to modify the settings of the groups you are joined to and how you wish to have your group notes delivered. You can choose to have them delivered to an email address or leave them on the web interface in order for you to read them via the website at your leisure.
